So there we were, two buddies since childhood, Guy, an artisanal carpenter and Anita, an English teacher/translator, sitting on Anita’s (I’m Anita (-:) super-soft white sofa, contemplating what we could do to better the world as well as better our own finances. “Did you ever have an idea you didn’t follow through?” Guy asked me. “Well, as a matter of fact, I did. Or, I do.” “Do tell”, “Well, it happened years ago. I was with my partner at the time, we were driving around central Tel Aviv looking for a place to park so we could attend an event that was happening there that day. It was exasperating: all the on street parking was taken, but if you looked over to the buildings lining the little streets off Dizengoff, you could see multiple available spots at the ground level of these buildings, underneath the columns many of those buildings were built on. I voiced a thought: “How cool would it be if there was an app connecting those spot owners to people like us. I mean, we could also pay them.” My partner was a bit of an old timer, and he sais they wouldn’t want to do it, but I knew so many of the residents there are young folk who would love some passive income made via their phones. It’s a new world we’re living in, my mind whispered to me. Anything is possible now.”
